Current major tasks at FOSSEE include:
the development and management of websites and web-based applications,
generation of content for courses on Free/Open Source Software, Python, LaTeX, *nix systems, Scilab, and version control systems,
coordination/organization/delivery of workshops and courses at various levels on the topics mentioned.
We want inspired, capable and experienced web developers and content developers to contribute to one or more focus areas of the project.
For all posts at FOSSEE
Applicants should:
be familiar with Free/Open Source Software and possess sufficient expertise in *nix and associated systems,
be competent programmers,
possess good writing skills.
(1) Content developers: Python
Should be knowledgable in Python and one or more of matplotlib, numpy, scipy, mayavi, and sage,
Knowledge/experience in content generation and/or instruction design would be an added advantage.
(2) Content developers: Scilab
Should have a working knowledge of Scilab/MATLAB/Sage/Mathematica etc. or a combination,
Knowledge/experience in content generation and/or instruction design would be an added advantage.
(3) Web-development in FOSSEE
Should possess excellent web development skills with sufficient experience, preferably in in one or more of Plone, Pylon, Django, Zope etc., contact us regarding web-development for the project.
