The team working on the project
Prabhu Ramachandran

I am an assistant professor at the Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Bombay and the principal investigator of the FOSSEE project. I've been associated with FOSS in India for a very long while and co-founded the Chennai chapter of the Indian Linux Users Group (ILUGC). I've been programming Python for more than a decade and am the lead developer of the FOSS India award winning Mayavi and TVTK. I am also member of the Python Software Foundation.

Anoop Jacob Thomas

I graduated from SCT College of Engineering, Trivandrum in 2008. I have been a FOSS enthusiast for the last 3 years. I am active member of FSUG-TVM. I took the initiative for the GNU/Linux Install Fest in Kerala in 2008. I have conducted seminars on FOSS. Bhanukiran Perabathini
I did my BSc (hons) Physics (2007) from Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) and then a masters in Applied Physics (2009) at the Institut d'Optique (Paris) and the Technical University of Delft (Delft). My research areas of interest are 'computational statistical mechanics, classical/quantum dynamics, optimization algorithms in physical and physiological problems.' I've been using Python for 2 years now primarily to solve mathematical problems. Python really has changed the way I always looked at the 'task of programming'. Had python not been invented, I wouldn't have learnt to program ever, honestly! My role in fossee is essentially to create educational content (written in python/sage) on the web for students to access for free and discover the power of python as a tool to solve numerical and symbolic problems in physics and mathematics.
Madhusudan C S
I have been programming in Python for three years now. I confess that I am obsessed with Python and hence landed up in FOSSEE. Other than FOSSEE I have contributed to quite a few FOSS projects earlier like GNOME, KDE, Mercurial among other things. I was a Google Summer of Code(GSoC) student twice. During GSoC 2008 I worked on implementing a Linux-compatible /proc filesystem on GNU/Hurd operating system. During GSoC 2009 I implemented a GHOP-like task-based workflow for Melange. I am now a core developer of Melange and I work on Melange all the other time I get outside FOSSEE. I also mentored a project that implements social features on Melange during GSoC 2010.
Nishanth Amuluru
Finished engineering in EEE in May '09. Been a part of FOSSEE since Oct '09. I was introduced to python during my project work in Aug '08. Been using it since then.
Puneeth Chaganti
I joined FOSSEE in Jul'09 after finishing my bachelors in EEE. I have been using Python since mid 2008 for various tasks and I simply love it! I've been a FOSS enthusiast and an active user since 2006.
